As we’ve recently seen with the denim upholstered and leopard-patterned Air Max 1, Nike can get quite imaginative with their silhouettes to appeal to wider audiences. However, it’s the GR releases – the borderline boring pairs – that really get the “heads” interested, like this upcoming “Deep Royal Blue” that couldn’t possibly get more beautifully bland.
Sans “Big Bubble“, this Air Max 1 opts for that timeless build consisting of suede and sport mesh uppers. A striking Deep Royal Blue floods the entire mudguard to match the interior lining, while the standard neutral grey quarter and white sport mesh supply the remainder of the upper construction. Hits of black are seen on the Swoosh logos and tongue. The only aspect that would really improve these is if Nike went back to the versatile blocking on the outsoles (Deep Royal Blue at the toe would have been cleaner).
A release is coming soon – likely late Summer 2023 – so stay tuned for release updates.
